She has been a featured soloist playing concertos by Ravel, Debussy and Mozart, has performed on European tours in Rome, Italy and Vienna, Austria, and has appeared on several recordings. Julie has played harp for thousands of wedding ceremonies and countless wedding receptions, dinners, church services, recitals, orchestra performances, choral concerts, grand openings, housewarmings, bridal showers, and many other special occasions. She has also provided music at private events for Jimmy Carter, Tyler Perry, Coca-Cola, Chick-Fil-A, Home Depot, and Widespread Panic. Smith, Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Indigo Girls, and Ray Charles. Julie has backed various artists including Trisha Yearwood, Amy Grant & Michael W. She has also performed frequently with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, DeKalb Symphony, Georgia Philharmonic, Atlanta Philharmonic, Gwinnett Symphony, and Johns Creek Symphony. While residing in Miami, Julie played harp throughout coastal Florida and performed with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida and Palm Beach Opera.Īfter moving to Atlanta, Julie was appointed principal harpist of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Harp Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. An Ohio native, she played seven seasons with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Julie Koenig is an Atlanta-based harpist with repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary.
